Harold Sandak-Lewin joins the family business
Sandak-Lewin Trust is approached to administer various Shareblock developments, many of which are still in the Sandak-Lewin Trust portfolio of clients today.
Sandak-Lewin Trust acquired the portfolio of Marcus Kirsch, which gave a considerable boost to the Sandak-Lewin Trust management portfolio.
Harold’s son, Mark Sandak-Lewin joins the company and initiates a number of successful Sectional Title developments. Older brother and accountant Jonathan, and sister Linda, were largely responsible for the sales of converted sectional title properties and joined soon after.
Carl Smit, who at this stage has been with the company since 2002 is made Managing Director.
Sandak-Lewin Trust acquires SureProp, which brings across a small portfolio to add to the growing management portfolio. SureProp staff members come across providing continuity with regards to the relationships with their Trustees and Owners.
David Rebe buys a portion of the company and with that the company name changes to Sandak-Lewin Property Trust. Harold Sandak-Lewin is the Chairman, with the Directors being Jonathan and Linda Sandak-Lewin and Sidney Rebe.
Sandak-Lewin Property Trust purchases Property Management in Hout Bay. This grows the management portfolio considerably and we also now have a satellite office open in the Hout Bay area.
Sandak-Lewin Property Trust acquires Blakey Rentals – a rentals company predominately focused on the High Cape / Vredehoek area. The second Sandak-Lewin Property Trust satellite office is now in High Cape.
This year we take on our biggest feat yet – amalgamating with J &S Penkin, a company almost equal in size to our own. This amalgamation increases our management and rental portfolio by double and also increases our staff numbers.
Sandak-Lewin Property Trust launches its Sales division! We want to look after your investment no matter how you’re using it – to reside in, to rent out or to sell and buy bigger and better! We also launch our Client Online Portal, giving our clients easy access to documentation they may want to view as well as their monthly accounts – all this at the click of a button.
We acquired two small sectional title portfolios, from Tarleys Trust Property Group and Sutton Properties.
This year saw us taking on the mammoth move from what was our office home for many years in Riebeeck Street to our new premises in Roeland Square. By the end of the year we have settled in nicely.
This was a sad year for Sandak-Lewin Trust - Chairman, Harold Sandak-Lewin passed away.
We started off this year as we would any other, only for COVID to hit the world and for South Africa, along with many other nations, go into lock down. Sandak-Lewin Property Trust are proud that we were able to do this with minimal effort and we had all our staff working safely from home before lock down was enforced. We also closed down our Hout Bay office.
With ongoing variations of COVID lock down we started bringing staff back into our offices, rotating throughout the week to comply with government protocols.
Last year saw the end to most of the COVID regulations and from January we brought our staff compliment back into the office full time. From March onwards, we allowed all staff who were able to, to work from home on Tuesdays and Thursdays. In August this year we acquired Accommodation Warehouse International and now operate a branch in Sea Point Main Road.
